The best of advice for the worst of situations ... if you have to close down, Scott Denman can tell you how to do it well.

Peter Lane

Peter Lane is a Senior Program Associate at ICL. On staff since 1998, he currently manages ICL’s Freshwater Leadership Initiative (Great Lakes and Southeast U.S.); and Organizational Leadership and Effectiveness for the Environment (PA and NJ) programs, also serving as a trainer and consultant. He will be one of the team members later this year when ICL offers the Leading from Within program.

In addition, Peter helps assess organizational needs, and manages the planning and delivery of ICL’s custom-designed services. He has led training sessions on organizational change, board development, volunteer management, and leadership development, as well as facilitated planning meetings and retreats.

Peter received a B.A. from the Clark University in Massachusetts and Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  He also served in the Congo as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Peter loves to get out his yoga mat and has had a ten-year intention of nurturing a regular yoga practice into his life.  He is involved in his community through the Circle Woods neighborhood patrol and his church, the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Silver Spring.  He enjoys cooking, gardening, and just got a new bike. Peter lives with his partner and a demanding cat in Takoma Park.
