North Carolina Complete Fundraiser Program, 2008-2009

The Institute for Conservation Leadership, in cooperation with the North Carolina Conservation Network, is pleased to announce 2008-2009 North Carolina Complete Fundraiser Program. Following are date, location, cost, and application details for this program.  For a complete description of the Complete Fundraiser Program, click here.

February 17-21, 2008 First Workshop at Caraway Conference Center in Sophia, NC (near Greensboro)

September 8-10, 2008

Second Workshop at The Summit Environmental Education Center in Browns Summit, NC
(near Greensboro)

February 19-21, 2009 Final Workshop at The Summit Environmental Education Center in Browns Summit, NC

Tuition

The Complete Fundraiser tuition of $9,750 includes:

  • Three workshops (8 total days of training)
  • Lodging and meals during the workshops
  • The 200-page Complete Fundraiser Companion resource manual and other materials
  • Three days (24 hours) of consulting and coaching support including an optional onsite visit
  • Ongoing conference calls and peer support for the primary fundraiser
  • Workshop, meals and lodging for one additional staff or board member to attend the first and third workshops

Full tuition payment is required within two weeks of acceptance to the program. 

Reduced tuition for eligible organizations
Thanks to generous support from several foundations we are able to offer reduced tuition rates to a limited number of eligible organizations in the Southeast U.S. and Great Lakes region (U.S. and Canada).

How to Apply

Applications are due December 21, 2007.

To apply, download and complete the application form. Submit it along with your application fee by December 21, 2007. There is a non-refundable $250 application fee (we’ll return it if you’re not accepted).  Please submit the completed application form and requested organizational materials to Courtney Carlson at courtney@icl.org. Payment instructions for the application fee are on the application form.

Apply early and save $100 off the application fee! Submit your application and fee by December 7, 2007 and your application fee will be reduced to $150.

Training Team

Kim Gilliam is a full-time consultant and a member of ICL’s Consultant Network. For 14 years, Kim was Chief Development Officer at the Southern Environmental Law Center, where he built a nationally recognized major gifts program that generated approximately 50% of the organization's $5M budget. He offers extensive training in environmental and social justice fundraising throughout the country specializing in major gifts and capital campaign fundraising.

Amy O’Connor is a member of ICL’s Consultant Network and President of Integrated Development Consulting. During her tenure as Membership Director of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, SUWA’s membership grew from 1,000 to over 20,000. Amy’s areas of expertise include comprehensive development planning, strategic planning, major donor stewardship, board development, membership recruitment and cultivation, and communication.

Andy Robinson is member of ICL’s Consultant Network, and he has been raising money for social change since 1980. As a trainer and consultant, he has assisted nonprofits in 40 states and Canada, leading workshops on fundraising, grantseeking, board development, strategic planning, marketing, leadership development, and earned income strategies. Andy has authored books including Grassroots Grants and Big Gifts for Small Groups.

Courtney Carlson is a Program Associate on the ICL staff.  She manages several initiatives including Strengthening Organizations and Leaders for the Environment – Southeast (SOLE-SE) and the North Carolina Fundraising Capacity Initiative.
