Shared Leadership II Program

Shared Leadership II Workshops build on Shared Leadership I, and offer opportunities to deepen and expand your knowledge, skills and perspectives. These aren't programs for armchair learners! In these three and a half day workshops you will interact with leaders from sustainable agriculture nonprofit organizations, university institutes and scientific societies, sharing your experiences and learning how to better handle the leadership challenges of an increasingly complex time. You'll be engaged in a wide range of learning activities, including discussion groups, problem-solving, engaging in team exercises and personal reflection, and planning for future action.

A few of the things you will do at Shared Leadership II Workshops:

  • Share your experiences carrying out your action plans from Shared Leadership 1 and the lessons gained from making changes in your organization
  • Strengthen your team's ability to work well together and identify effective team leadership practices with distant locations
  • Improve your inter-personal communication, goup meeting facilitation and discussion skills
  • Explore the benefits, barriers and tools for working effectively with other organizations on cooperative projects and practice the steps to a successful start
  • Learn ways to strengthen and broaden your organizations support base and membership
  • Identify effective leadership approaches for challenging times and identify how to make strategic choices for your organization
  • Set priorities and make plans to strengthen your organization
  • Explore diverse perspectives on the future of agriculture and practice communicating with people of different views.

Participants in Shared Leadership II Workshops will:

  • receive on-going coaching and consulting assistance
  • be part of a continuing resource and problem solving network
  • be encouraged to apply for grants to develop collaborative projects; and
  • be able to contract additional coaching and consulting assistance
