Leading From Within

The Institute for Conservation Leadership (ICL) invites you to participate in the Leading From Within Program , two sessions of personal leadership growth and skill development.

The 2008-09 offering begins November 11-14, 2008 in MD. Apply by September 8, 2008.

Program Description

Leading From Within is a five-month program designed to strengthen participants' leadership skills and increase their effectiveness as leaders. This program will help you have a greater impact as a leader with others, within your organization, and in group settings by:

• Increasing your leadership awareness, knowledge, and skills through self-reflection and group practice;
• Applying theoretical and practical tools to be a more strategic leader; and
• Practicing what you learn in interpersonal, organizational, and group settings

Leading From Within includes two 3-day sessions with conference calls and coaching time between sessions. The program includes a 360 degree leadership assessment tool, communication skills building, group experiential exercises, peer exchange, and activities that you will find both challenging and rejuvenating!

By the end of the two sessions you will:

• Know your leadership strengths and how to use them,
• Have a greater impact as a leader in one-on-one, group, and organizational settings,
• Choose your actions strategically from a place of centeredness, rather than reactivity,
• Develop a toolbox of skills for effective leadership in a variety of situations, and
• Address current leadership challenges that you are facing

Who Should Attend?

Leading From Within is for lead staff, executive directors, and board members staff who are passionate about their work, energized by a creative peer learning environment, and eager to further develop their leadership potential.
